Lancement du Global Ethics Council de la PRCA

 

À l’occasion de la séance inaugurale de son Sommet international annuel qui se tient (en virtuel) ces 20 et 21 mai 2020, la PRCA annonce le lancement d’un Global Ethics Council.

 

Ce conseil mondial d’éthique lancé par la PRCA, présidé par David Gallagher d’Omnicom, réunit une douzaine de professionnels issus du monde entier, dont pour la France, Stéphane Billiet, Président de We agency et membre du Conseil d’administration du Syndicat du Conseil en Relations Publics.

 

La création par la PRCA de ce Global Ethics Council vise à conforter les normes éthiques et les bonnes pratiques, dans le monde entier, en se positionnant comme une ressource pour les questions d’ordre éthique. Ainsi, les missions du Global Ethics Council consisteront notamment à:

  • Répondre aux sollicitations des associations professionnelles nationales qui souhaiteraient obtenir des conseils sur le contenu de leurs codes de déontologie ; et offrir des suggestions pratiques pour les améliorer
  • Aider les associations actuellement sans codes à les créer
  • Créer un forum international pour débattre de questions éthiques communes

Aim

  • To raise ethical standards around the world

Remit

  • Provide advice to Associations on the content of their Codes; and offer practical suggestions for improvement
  • Help Associations currently without Codes to create them
  • Create an international forum for debating common ethical issues

Outputs

  • Create a truly global annual ethics month, with social engagement and ideally events around the world
  • Each Council member to take turns hosting a monthly twitter chat on topical ethical issues
  • The oversight and collation of ethics thought leadership
  • The publication of a global ethics newsletter every month

With the expectation of other regional and remote supplementary events. PRCA Director General Francis Ingham MPRCA, said: “The launch of the PRCA Global Ethics Council is a key moment for our industry. The creation of this global body will help us to set and then to raise even higher global standards of ethical behaviour. The seniority of the Council‘s membership is unparalleled, and we are grateful that such an esteemed figure as David Gallagher has agreed to be its Chairman.”
